Planning & Development Services

Planning Department is responsible for shaping the future of the community by developing strategies for land use, zoning, and urban development. As someone in the planning department, I work to ensure that growth and development happen in an organized and sustainable way. Our main goal is to create a balanced and well-structured community that meets the needs of residents, businesses, and the environment.

Responsibilities of Planning & Development Services in a Municipality

  1. Development Planning
    • This sub-department includes services such as the Spatial Development Framework (SDF), Land Use Management System (LUMS), and Geographic Information System (GIS). It also offers advice on LUMS and map production using GIS technology.

    • The Water Services Authority ensures compliance with water-related regulations and policies. It develops and implements policies to govern water services. The department ensures that water supply and sanitation services meet national standards and regulations.
