26 February 2026 The Amajuba District Municipality Municipal Council convened a hybrid Special Council meeting at the ADM Council Chambers to review and adopt the 2025/26 Adjustment Budget. Following robust deliberations on the proposed adjustments for the 2025/26 financial year, tabled by the Honourable Acting Mayor, Councillor T.E. Mthembu, Council duly adopted the Adjustment Budget in full compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and related prescribed formats.

The approved 2025/26 Adjustment Budget is structured to ensure that the financially constrained municipality achieves a funded budget status as prescribed by National Treasury. The adjustments also promote sound financial governance, prudent expenditure and debt management, and strict cost-containment measures. Importantly, the budget safeguards the uninterrupted delivery of basic public services to the residents of the Amajuba District. Notably, the Acting Mayor emphasised disciplined financial management, strategic realignment of municipal resources, strengthened oversight, and the consolidation of institutional stability.
