B-BBEE Alignment Awareness Campaign

Broad- Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) & Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) Regulations, 2011 ALIGNMENT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Amajuba District Municipality hereby invites all business entities with its area of jurisdiction to the information session in which the KZN Treasury will clarify the alignment of B-BBEE and PPPFA Regulations.

As from the 7th of December 2011 business entities will not be able to trade with government if they had not undergone the verification process. It is important for business entities to understand the verification process and be verified in terms of B-BBEE Act.

Umkhosi Womhlanga 2009 Siyaya

Amajuba District Municipality together with Ingabadi Group, Ukhozi FM and Ilanga Newspaper hosted uMkhosi woMhlanga 2009 Siyaya on 08 August 2009 at Madadeni Phelandaba Sportsfield. Unomkhubulwano was held from 07 to 09 August 2009 and was part of the above event. This event was aimed at promoting and preparing for uMkhosi woMhlanga held at Nongoma every year. The municipality provides transport for iZintombi to uMkhosi woMhlanga at Nongoma Enyokeni Royal Palace. This event is in line with the Mayoral HIV/AIDS prevention and Arts & Culture programmes, which promotes the use of cultural and traditional activities like virgin testing to prevent young and vulnerable people from getting infected with HIV/AIDS by staying away from pre-marital sexual activities. It is a matter of fact that young people forms the high percentage of people infected by HIV/AIDS.
